What the score shows

GEO Visibility Score shows how a brand performs across a defined set of questions, models, and markets. Its 0–100 scale makes changes easy to compare over time.

The score is not a rating of the company. It always comes with components, evidence, and measurement confidence.

components and source status

The score consists of K1–K12, but the components are not collected in the same way. K3, K6, K7, and K10 use model answers; K12 can use a technical measurement. Some other components use proxy signals or declared data.

The workspace stores a source status and evidence reference for each component. A proxy value should not be interpreted as a direct observation.

Observed AI Performance and GEO Readiness

The components fall into two groups with different natures. Observed AI Performance measures what models actually do today: whether they mention, cite, and recommend the brand. GEO Readiness assesses whether the brand is prepared for models to do so — content, sources, data, technical accessibility.

Separating the two shows whether the problem is missing foundations, or foundations that exist but have not yet translated into observed results.

Measurement Confidence

AI model answers are variable, so every result carries Measurement Confidence — an explicit measure of how certain the measurement is, derived from factors such as repetition count, answer stability, and data completeness.

Low confidence is never hidden: it means the conclusion should be treated cautiously, and often that the measurement should be extended before decisions are made.

Technical eligibility gate

If a brand's site is technically inaccessible to AI systems — for example, it blocks their crawlers or does not expose content in a readable form — no amount of content work will pay off.

That is why the methodology includes a technical eligibility gate: critical technical blockers are flagged explicitly and constrain how the remaining components are interpreted, instead of being diluted into an average.

Industry weights and limitations

Component importance varies by industry — product recommendations, for instance, weigh differently in e-commerce than in B2B services. The methodology therefore applies industry weights when aggregating the score.

Their limitations are stated openly: weights are an approximation, and comparing scores across different industries has limited meaning and is not something we recommend.

What the score does not mean

GEO Visibility Score is not a promise of ranking position or a revenue forecast. Nor does it guarantee that a specific AI model will name your brand in a specific conversation.

It is a measure of state and preparedness within a defined measurement scope — honestly described, uncertainty included. That honesty is exactly what makes it a useful decision tool.
